About Us

Food, celebration and a love of adventure are at the heart of every unforgettable bike tour.

At Vino Velo, we’re passionate about getting people out of their cars and onto a bike to experience the best of what Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer, from its lush vineyards to the rugged Niagara Escarpment, scrumptious farm-to-table meals, and some of the best craft breweries in the province.

Whether you’re an avid cyclist, have never ridden or haven’t ridden since you were a kid, anyone 19 or older is welcome on our tours and in the shop (because our tours are focused on wineries and breweries, we restrict participation to Ontario’s legal drinking age). From the moment you call us, we provide you with nothing less than personal customer service and a safe, fun, and distinctly memorable experience. As the only tour operator in Niagara who’s also zoned and insured to sell bikes, we offer one-stop shopping for tours, rentals, and sales in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Conveniently located on Niagara Stone Road on your way into Old Town, we’re minutes from many bed and breakfasts, hotels, and other accommodations providers.

We plan your trip in three easy steps:

1. Arrange your tour

When you visit or call the shop, you’ll be met by friendly, knowledgeable staff who can suggest one of our private tours for your group of up to 10 people, or custom build an itinerary based on your preferences. Routes can be modified for seasonal conditions or to ensure the comfort and safety of riders. Tours run year-round, weather permitting.

2. Choose a bike

Pick from our wide selection of bikes available to rent for the day, from dutchies to fixies and step-throughs to multi-speeds and city bikes. Because safety is always our top priority, our bikes undergo a top-to-bottom, multi-point inspection after every trip to keep them in road-ready condition. Whatever your ability, riding style or purpose, we answer your questions, outfit you with the right equipment and match you with the perfect bike. We partner with a number of bed and breakfasts in the area, and can deliver your rental to you if required. If you like the bike you’re riding, you can buy it!

Convenient, value-added services
We’re qualified to tune and repair your bike at the shop or on the road - if you have a flat tire or broken chain but can’t make it to our location, we’ll come to you if you’re in the Niagara Region.

3. Enjoy your adventure!

Now it’s time to hop on your bike and enjoy your trip! Your friendly and knowledgeable tour guide should be able to answer any questions you have - as experts on local geography, safe cycling laws, and our partner businesses, they’re a source of interesting and valuable information. They’re also trained in CPR and first aid, so you’ll be in good hands.

The price of each tour includes:

  • The use of a bike helmet and bicycle
  • A tasting at each winery or brewery on your tour
  • Lunch (Catered or picnic, depending on tour)
